Double Silver Awards for Bridgend College


The College Marketing Network's FE First Awards are now well established as the sector’s annual opportunity to celebrate marketing best practice and innovative and creative thinking. Over 100 colleges entered the Awards in 2009, with 130 entries across the 15 categories.
The ceremony was held on Monday 23rd November at the Hilton Hotel in Coventry, and Bridgend College were one of only three colleges to get more than one award; Silvers in both the Higher Education Prospectus and Best Use of Integrated Media for a Summer Campaign categories.
Savage and Gray are proud to have worked on the winning entries and would like to congratulate the College Marketing Team on their double win.

CCYPP Site Goes Live


Cardiff Children and Young People's Partnership work together to improve services for children and young people in Cardiff and aims ‘to create a safe, healthy and learning community which celebrates diversity and promotes genuine opportunities for all’.
Savage and Gray have worked closely with the Partnership to produce a bi-lingual CMS site that has the capacity to evolve as they progress.

Savage and Gray at the Senedd for Agored Cymru Launch



Agored Cymru have officially launched their new status as an awarding authority, and with it their name change and rebrand, at the Senedd, Cardiff Bay. Hosted by BBC Wales' Jason Mohammad and with speech duties going to Carwyn Jones, AM, the event celebrated the past, present and future of the organisation. Tim and Dave from Savage and Gray were happy to attend.

Giant Book-Share with The Big Read


The Big Read is a exciting new initiative in South West Wales by NPT Libraries. It involves the promotion of Welsh literature to the wider community with an innovative pick-up-and-drop-off book sharing scheme. People will then be able to post votes for their favourite book online.
Savage and Gray designed all promotion materials.

Bridgend Colleges Secret is Out(standing)


Bridgend College is now offically celebrating the results of a recent full Estyn inspection.
The College was awarded 10 x Grade 1s and 5 x strong Grade 2’s, which is one of the highest set of grades ever awarded to a Further Education College in Wales (or England).
Savage and Gray were invited to create publicity materials for the launch of their 'Outstanding' status, including brochures, press ads and invites to their launch event, held at the Coed-y-Mwstwr Hotel, Bridgend.

Here Comes The (Bankrupt) Bride


The Bankrupt Bride is a brand-new musical from Theatr Na n'Og which tells the story of a bridal shop owner whose entire existence revolves around getting brides ready for their big day.  Savage and Gray created the show logo, digital media pack, leaflets, programmes and listening post foyer displays.
It's showing in and around Wales before a run at the Greenwich Theatre, London. If you get a chance make sure you see it.

CIA Turns It Up To Ten



Savage and Grays relationship continues at a pace with the Cardiff International Arena as we celebrate the 10th issue of 'Onstage', their official quarterly events listing.

Audiences Wales Draw Back the Curtain


As part of on-going work with Cardiff cultural marketing organisation Audiences Wales, Savage and Gray have designed new literature to promote their services.

National Trust Go Large


Savage and Gray have produced giant 4 metre x 8 metre graphics for the exterior of Tyntesfield House, Somerset for the National Trust. The house is still open to the public who will be able to see the renovation project develop.

Hay Festival 09

Savage and Gray continue their relationship with one of Europe's largest literary festivals, with a fresh new look for 2009.

The 2009 visual styling was applied across all marketing collateral from the main festival brochure, the pink book - a guide to the festival partners, Hay fever - the childrens festival, site signage and display material.

Student Union Glams It Up

The University of Glamorgan Student Union Guide 2009 has literally been 'glammed-up' this year with Savage and Grays cut-and-paste design including leopard-skin textures, glitter balls, gold chains and a variety of pimped-up layouts.

OCN Wales reborn as Agored Cymru

Following the granting of ‘Awarding Organisation’ status, Savage and Gray have worked closely with The Open College Network Wales to created a new brand under the name Agored Cymru.
The project included the creation of an extensive brand user document plus a variety of templates to aid implementation.
The new brand will be applied to a wide range of media including brochures, reports, mailers, mugs and the web.

In july we were commissioned by NPT theatres to take a look and the promotional material for the Pontardawe Arts Centre and Princess Royal Theatre.

The NPT Marketing team brief required a cohesive look that would bring the venues together under the NPT Theatres banner whilst retaining their own strong brand values.

Making Hay 2009

Its the Guardian Hay Festival 2009. This years event theme Ideas May Blossom saw us create the festival programme and onsite exhibition and display material.

We even managed to get the whole team out of the studio for a day and enjoy the diverse array of events on offer!

June saw the launch of a fresh new look for the Library service of Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council Libraries. Our brief was to create a flexible new identity that conveys diverse work of the department and services they offer to the public.

30 Metre Outdoor Display for The National Trust


As part of the renovation of Tyntesfield Manor in North Somerset, The National Trust asked Savage and Gray to create designs for a 30 metre+ display panel to introduce visitors to the building history. As part of the project we have also been commissioned to design a set of three 4m x 8m banners to dress the manor whilst the renovation continues.

British Science Association People & Science Magazine Rebranded



Savage and Gray are delighted to be working with the British Science Association on the re-branding of their flagship publication 'People & Science', formerly 'Science & Public Affairs'. Leeds University Launch Website on BBCs One Show
Savage and Gray have just produced a CMS website for Leeds University Psychology Faculty; www.thebigmemoryshare.com. The Leeds psychologists want to record viewers’ very first memory from childhood and also their memories of items of major public news – ‘flashbulb’ memories. Their aim is to gather more than 20,000 samples to help them with their ongoing work into how children develop a capacity for memory, how adults process memory and how memories change as people get older. The site was launched on the BBCs One Show so we are expecting lots of hits. Feel free to add a memory yourself.

Headline News at Royal Welsh College
Savage and Gray have been working on promotional materials for the Royal Welsh College of Music and Dramas latest production, Thoroughly Modern Millie, held at Sherman Cymru. As well as posters and flyers we have created a programme based on a 1922 edition of the New York Times, featuring articles on characters from the show.

Cinetig Online is Go!

Bafta Award winning animation company Cinetig launched their new site created by Savage and Gray in December.

As a showcase for their work the site utilises a bespoke cms system and flash video to deliver the company's portfolio internationally.

The chosen solution was a mixture of texture, type and imagery specifically selected to engage the venues broad audience. Coca Cola Enterprises new website for the Minute Maid sponsored Welsh Schools Cup is now live. Created by Savage and Gray, the site uses a content management system for the customer to update a constant stream of information and statistics.
